Health Club in Somerville’s Spring Hill neighborhood is a new cafe championed by owners Katie and Andy Rooney, an extension of their beloved 3 Little Figs cafe next door. Health Club’s plant-centric menu offers organic superfood in the form of delicious bowls, salads, smoothies, and more -- all free of  gluten, soy, and meat products. The space may be small, but the decor is striking: “Health Club” is emblazoned in neon pink lights above the counter with the open kitchen providing an inspiring backdrop. A wall of faux succulents accentuates the show stopping mural executed by local artist Lizzie Siegel. According to Health Club's website, the mural is an interpretation of "a cosmic greek goddess who celebrates health and well-being, loves food, and lives in a vibrant fruit and veggie Trapper Keeper universe.” Believe it when you see it.

Stop in for a healthy meal or snack on the run, or stick around if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the eight stools inside or the limited table seating outside when weather permits. And if the Golden Rice Bowl or Galactic Berry Smoothie doesn’t get you energized, just head next door for an espresso or two.
